The Urbana City School District Board of Education is inviting community members to take part in a public forum to help shape the search for the district’s next superintendent.
The forum will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the PreK-8 Building Dining Commons, located at 711 Wood Street in Urbana. The session is designed to gather input from residents on the characteristics, skills and experience the Board should consider as it evaluates candidates for the district’s top leadership position.
According to the district, the meeting will provide an opportunity for community members to share their perspectives both verbally and in writing. Residents, parents, staff and other stakeholders are encouraged to attend and take part in the discussion.
District leaders say community involvement is a vital component of the superintendent selection process. Feedback gathered during the forum will help guide the Board of Education as it moves forward with identifying and evaluating candidates to lead Urbana City Schools.
The Board emphasized that it welcomes broad participation and values the insight of the school community as it makes this important decision for the future of the district.
