Urbana Elementary School planned a unique event for incoming kindergarten students.
All incoming kindergarten students and a parent/guardian were invited to this year’s Kindergarten Round-Up, a fun and interactive event sponsored by the United Way.
The event gave families a chance to experience “A Day in the Life of Kindergarten” together.
Parents and children participated in classroom routines, toured a school bus, met the kindergarten staff and principal, and enjoyed both breakfast and lunch as part of the day’s activities.
The Kindergarten Round-Up had a cowboy theme. Parents signed up to attend on Tuesday, June 24th, or Wednesday, June 25th, from 8:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to learn about the daily routines of kindergarten.
Superintendent Charles Thiel and Elementary Principal Melanie Anders talk about the event:
This event was open to all incoming students entering kindergarten in the fall of 2025 who plan on attending Urbana Elementary.
If your child is not yet registered, the next kindergarten registration and screening day is set for Tuesday, August 5th.
