The Urbana Fire Division responded to a structure fire on Lafayette Avenue on Thursday morning.
A passerby reported hearing a fire alarm and smelling smoke just before 9:15 a.m., prompting fire and medic crews to respond immediately.
Units arrived on scene within minutes and found smoke throughout the building.
Mutual-aid crews from West Liberty and Saint Paris assisted in controlling the fire, which was contained shortly after 10:00 a.m.
No injuries were reported, and damage was limited to the area of origin.
Urbana Public Works treated the surrounding area for icy conditions after the incident.
