A man was arrested following a crash Wednesday evening in Urbana, Ohio.

According to the Urbana Police Division, officers responded March 11 to a reported rollover crash at the intersection of North Edgewood Avenue and Mosgrove Street. When officers arrived, they found a gray Chevrolet pickup off the roadway and spoke with Akeem Colquitt, 37, of Springfield, who was at the scene.

Police say Colquitt initially claimed he had been a passenger and that the driver had left to get help. However, multiple witnesses told officers Colquitt was the only person in the truck and had been driving when it crashed, a statement that was also supported by the vehicle’s owner.

Officers reported signs of alcohol impairment, and a preliminary breath test showed a blood alcohol level of 0.095.

Colquitt was taken to the hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries before being arrested.

He was later transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail and cited for operating a vehicle while impaired (OVI), driving under a non-compliance suspension, failure to maintain reasonable control, and obstructing official business.
