A 21-year-old Springfield woman was arrested early Friday morning in Urbana after police say she was driving in the wrong lane and showed signs of impairment.
According to a report from the Urbana Police Division, officers observed the vehicle traveling southbound in the opposite lane near North Main Street and East Church Street shortly after midnight on September 25.
Police initiated a traffic stop in the 200 block of Scioto Street and identified the driver as Alexis Crank, 21, of Springfield.
According to the report, officers detected an odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle and observed that Crank had bloodshot, glassy eyes. Police say Crank told officers she had consumed “a couple drinks.”
Crank was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. According to police, she showed multiple indicators of impairment during the tests.
Police say Crank was unable to provide a breath sample and later attempted to provide a urine sample. According to the report, officers determined the sample provided was not urine.
A search of the vehicle reportedly found nearly empty bottles of Captain Morgan and Crown Royal, along with another bottle of Captain Morgan. Officers also reported finding THC resin and a vape pen in the center console.
Crank was arrested and transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
She was charged with OVI, obstructing official business, driving in marked lanes, open container of alcohol, and transportation of marijuana.
