Four Urbana Police officers participated in the 2026 Columbus Marathon and Half Marathon on Sunday, October 18, helping raise money for Nationwide Children’s Hospital while accomplishing personal fitness goals.

Officer Lance Turner and Officer David Findley ran the half marathon, covering 13.1 miles, while Officer Luke Hiltibran and Chief Josh Jacobs completed the full 26.2-mile marathon.

The event raises money for Nationwide Children’s Hospital and celebrates the courage of children receiving care at the hospital. Over the past 15 years, the marathon has raised more than $15 million for the hospital.

Jacobs said Turner, Findley and Hiltibran set their goals early in 2026 and trained hard to prepare for the challenge.

“Lance, David and Luke each accomplished a personal goal that they set for themselves on Sunday, but being able to raise money to help the kids at Nationwide Children’s Hospital is really the true rewarding part of what we did this weekend. The guys were really happy to be a part of that.”
