Urbana Police Division swear in new officer Bennie Stacy

The following is a press release from the Urbana Police Division regarding a new officer joining the department.

New Urbana Police Officer Bennie Stacy recently began his career with the Urbana Police Division on March 9, 2026.  Stacy was sworn-in by Judge Gregory L. Harvey in front of family and fellow officers, in addition to Mayor Bill Bean and Director of Administration Spencer Mitchell.  Stacy’s swearing-in ceremony took place on March 11, 2026.

During the swearing-in ceremony, Stacy thanked his family for their support.  Stacy was also thankful for the opportunity to become an Urbana Police Officer and to serve the citizens of Urbana.

Stacy is a 2015 Urbana High School graduate.  Stacy received his Ohio Basic Police Officer Certification from the Edison State Community College Peace Officer Academy in 2023.

Stacy will now begin his 12-week Field Training program with the police division.  Once he successfully completes his Field Training program, Stacy will be given a solo patrol shift assignment.
