An Urbana woman was arrested after her SUV was found near a set of railroad tracks early Monday morning.

Deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle on the railroad tracks just before 4:00 AM in the 7200 block of County Road 9 North.

Upon arrival, deputies found a tan SUV parked parallel to the tracks, with its flashers on; however, it was not on the tracks.

The driver, 42-year-old Marie Forsythe, told deputies she had swerved to avoid a deer and ended up in a gravel area off the roadway.

While conducting an investigation, deputies asked Forsythe if she had consumed any alcoholic drinks recently.

Though she initially denied having any, Forsythe later admitted to drinking “one Bud Light around 10 p.m.”

She then failed several field sobriety tests, even admitting to deputies, “I’m going to fail it,” and later confessed to having “a few drinks.”

Forsythe was arrested on suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence.

At the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, she consented to a breathalyzer test, which returned a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.043.

Although this is below Ohio’s legal limit of 0.08, impairment was still seen during field sobriety tests.

She was issued citations for operating a vehicle under the influence and failure to control, then released to a sober driver.
