According to the Bellefontaine Police Department, officers recovered a vehicle stolen from a Walmart in Maysville, Kentucky, earlier this week.

Police say the investigation began when the suspect called his mother from McDonald’s on South Main Street on Monday, admitting he had taken the vehicle and had already abandoned it.

Officers were called the following day to 1780 South Main Street to locate the stolen car.

Security footage from McDonald’s and nearby businesses, including Chipotle, helped officers track the vehicle.

Surveillance showed the suspect backing the car into a parking spot before getting into another vehicle, which then left the area in an unknown direction.

The stolen black 2002 Honda CRV was towed to the impound lot.

No arrests have been made in connection with the theft, and the investigation remains active.
