According to officials, the issue may involve unauthorized charges affecting customers of the Verizon store located at 1738 South Main Street in Bellefontaine.
Police say they are working to determine the scope of the situation and whether multiple individuals may have been impacted.
As part of the investigation, authorities are asking anyone who has done business at that location and has since noticed suspicious or unrecognized charges on their account to come forward.
Detectives say even small or seemingly minor discrepancies could help piece together what happened.
