On Tuesday evening, Washington Township Police Chief Michael Thompson hosted another session of his Citizen’s Academy, where he reviewed several real cases his department has handled.
Chief Thompson explained that many of these cases are typical for his department, and that law enforcement often deals with situations that are not always clear-cut.
He emphasized the importance of investigation and critical thinking to uncover the facts and how officers must carefully evaluate each case.
The Citizen’s Academy is part of the department’s ongoing effort to strengthen community relationships and give residents a better understanding of law enforcement processes and decisions.
