A Zanesfield woman is facing multiple charges after deputies say she crashed a rental vehicle while impaired Tuesday afternoon—just one month after she was cited in another alcohol-related crash.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies discovered a dark gray Nissan sedan with deployed airbags at the intersection of State Route 287 and State Route 559 shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The vehicle was unoccupied when law enforcement arrived.
Investigators located a rental agreement inside the vehicle and contacted the rental company, which identified the renter as 62-year-old Robin Webb.
Deputies later went to Webb’s residence, where they made contact with her.
According to the report, Webb appeared impaired, had slurred speech, and nearly fell while walking down the steps from her home, requiring deputies to catch her.
Webb admitted she had just crashed the rental vehicle and told deputies she had consumed alcoholic beverages before driving.
She also said she had rented the Nissan the previous day after recently crashing her personal vehicle.
Webb agreed to perform field sobriety testing.
Deputies reported she showed multiple signs of impairment during the horizontal gaze nystagmus test and nearly lost her balance several times.
Investigators also noted Webb had fresh scratches on her knee and dirt on her legs.
Based on the timeline of the crash scene, receipts from a local business, and statements collected during the investigation, deputies determined the crash had occurred only minutes before she returned home.
While being transported to the Logan County Jail, Webb reportedly told deputies she had consumed two alcoholic drinks approximately 20 minutes before the crash.
At the jail, Webb agreed to provide a breath sample.
According to the sheriff’s office, the Intoxilyzer 8000 registered a blood alcohol concentration of 0.216, nearly three times Ohio’s legal limit of 0.08.
Webb was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence, high-test OVI, and failure to control.
This is the second OVI case involving Webb in the past month.
