Early Wednesday morning at 6:56 a.m., officers from the Bellefontaine Police Department, along with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team, executed a warrant at 1000 Garfield Avenue, Lot #70, resulting in the arrest of Robert J. Price III, 29.

Price, who faces felony warrants for nationwide extradition, failure to appear for sentencing in Shelby County, trafficking in drugs, and possession of criminal tools, was located at the residence following an ongoing investigation.

Due to his criminal history with weapons, the Response Team, including Bellefontaine Police K9 Pyro, positioned themselves around the property in advance to ensure a safe and peaceful apprehension.

When the full team arrived, Price attempted to flee on foot but was quickly confronted and surrendered without incident to Response Team members and K9 Pyro.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail.

The operation received additional support from the Bellefontaine Fire Department and the Lakeview Fire Department.

Authorities said the careful planning and coordination of the operation were key to bringing the suspect into custody safely.
