Early Sunday morning, Logan County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an injury accident at the intersection of South Main Street and Thatcher Street in DeGraff.
A vehicle reportedly went off the roadway, striking a pole.
Witnesses said that the driver attempted to leave the scene and showed signs of intoxication.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the driver, Tyler Welsh, 25, of DeGraff, who showed several signs of intoxication.
Welsh admitted to authorities that he had consumed six beers before the crash.
Deputies found two open cases of beer in the vehicle, with several bottles and cans missing.
After being transported to Mary Rutan Hospital for assessment, Welsh left the facility and was later found at his home by deputies.
He was taken to the Bellefontaine Police Department for further testing and then transported to the Logan County Jail.
Welsh was cited for driving while under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
