Recently, the West Liberty Fire Department added three new members to its ranks.

Each brings experience and a strong desire to serve the community.

Jeremy Smith joins the department with an impressive background in fire service. With a Level 2 Firefighter certification and EMT Basic certifications, Jeremy is well-equipped to serve the community in emergency situations. Before returning to Ohio, he served for 20 years as a career firefighter with the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District in California. He also volunteered for six years with the Woodland Avenue Fire Protection District. Jeremy, who has been an active member of the Columbus Division of Fire, enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing, as well as working on various projects around his home. He is looking forward to continuing his fire service career alongside his wife, Lori, and their three children.

Mike Dalton also brings a deep passion for community service to the department. In addition to his fire service role, Mike is actively involved in youth activities, volunteering as a baseball coach, umpire, and assistant scoutmaster for the local Boy Scout troop. He enjoys spending his spare time outdoors with his wife, Amber, and their two children, Kody and Trevor. Mike’s passion for helping others and his eagerness to contribute to the camaraderie and brotherhood of the fire service will help strengthen the department’s sense of unity and service.

Eric Esh rounds out the newest additions to the team. A member of a family with a deep history in the area, Eric is committed to serving his community in every capacity. His expertise in construction and electrical work will be a significant asset to the department. In his free time, Eric enjoys spending time with his son, Daniel, and FaceTiming with his daughter, Katelyn. He is eager to use his skills to help his community and to be part of the fire service’s rich tradition of teamwork and support.

The West Liberty Fire Department is proud to welcome Firefighters Smith, Dalton, and Esh to its team.
