West Liberty-Salem announces May Seniors of the Month

West Liberty-Salem High School announced its May Seniors of the Month. Congratulations to Quentin Rudolph and Delaney Jones.

Quentin is the son of Dianne and the late Mark Rudolph.

School Activities and Awards: Track and Field – All Ohio and Academic – all Ohio, Cross Country- Academic all Ohio x3, Quick Recall- 2nd team OHC, Student Council, Physics Club, Calculus Club, Design Team.

If I were the principal for a day: I would let students paint their parking spaces.

Favorite school memory: My favorite school memory was when Carson Kerns went to throw his trash away at lunch, but he tripped over his own feet and fell, causing the gravy on his tray to go all over his face.

People who have been an inspiration to me include: My mom, Coach Louden, and Coach Lauck because all three encourage me to work hard to become a better version of myself and want to see me succeed in everything I do.

Lately, I have been reading: Heart of Darkness.

My advice to parents: If your kid is interested in something, encourage them to pursue it.

My biggest regret: I have no regrets.

Next year I will be: Attending Ohio Northern University, majoring in Computer Engineering.

Delaney is the daughter of Brooke and Ralph Jones.

School Activities and Awards: Activities: Soccer, Track and Field, Key Club, Academic Excellence Award junior and senior year, Academic Honor student, 1st Team All Miami Valley in soccer (x3), 1st Team OHC (x3) in soccer, Indoor State Champion T&F of 2024, Girls Track MVP freshman and junior year, All-Ohio T&F freshman and junior year, Bellefontaine Examiner Track Athlete of the year in 2024

If I were principal for a day: I would definitely cater Chipotle for school lunch.

Favorite school memory: My favorite school memory would either be winning the 4×100 State Championship in 2024 or having two back-to-back undefeated soccer seasons in my sophomore and junior years.

People who have been an inspiration to me include: my friends and family because they’ve constantly shown me an immense amount of support, helped me learn from my mistakes, and have always supported me.

Lately, I have been reading: I am currently reading Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad.

My advice to parents: Have faith in your kids, trust them to make the right decisions, and allow them to learn from their mistakes.

My biggest regret: I am proud to say that I do not have any regrets.

Next year I will be: Next year, I will be continuing my athletic and academic career at Bowling Green State University, running track and majoring in business.
