West Liberty-Salem High School announced their Seniors of the Month for February. Congratulations to Audrey Collins and Luke McGill.
Audrey is the daughter of Brad and Coralea Collins.
She is on the 4-year Academic Honor Roll, National Honor Society, Key Club, Link Crew, Spanish Club, Chess Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Community Service Days, and Teacher Helper. Outside of school, she participates in Youth Group and is on the student-led board.
She is a Varsity Softball Letterman and Captain, 2024 OHC Honorable Mention in Softball, Varsity Soccer Letterman, 2024 OHC 2nd Team Soccer, and Champaign County Athlete of the Month (November).
If she were the principal for a day she would send the senior class to Kings Island for the day and buy everyone Chipotle with the school’s funds.
Her favorite school memories are at the lunch table with her friends and every day in Chemistry and Anatomy in Mrs. Neer’s class.
Audrey credits her parents as her biggest inspiration because they have shown her “unconditional love and support throughout everything that I do, and they do all that they can to make sure I succeed at every opportunity that comes my way.”
Lately, she has been reading The Bible and Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
Audrey’s advice to parents is to “be supportive of your kids and push them to do things outside of their comfort zone. Who knows they might find something they love to do.”
Meanwhile, her biggest regret is not making an effort to come in for lunch and homeroom every day with her friends. Also waiting till the very last minute to do everything, making herself stressed out.
Next year Audrey will attend Bowling Green State University to major in Gerontology.
Luke is the son of Dan and MaryAnn McGill.
He participates in football, track, NHS, Link Crew, Key Club, and Highest Honors.
If he were principal for a day he would buy better toilet paper for the bathrooms.
His favorite school memory is playing lunch table Would-You-Rather.
Luke credits his dad as his biggest inspiration because “he is an example of the type of man I want to be.”
Lately, he has been reading The Bible and Pygmalion.
Luke’s advice to parents would be to “discipline your kids or they will turn out bad.”
His biggest regret is not buying the season 3 battle pass.
Next year, Luke will serve in the Ohio Air National Guard and hopefully attend Bowling Green in the Spring.
