West Liberty-Salem High School celebrated the Class of 2026 during its commencement ceremony on Sunday evening, May 24, as family members, friends, faculty, and community members gathered inside the high school gymnasium to honor the district’s newest graduates.
A total of 93 seniors crossed the stage and officially became alumni, marking the end of their high school careers and the beginning of their next chapters.
The evening recognized a class known for its academic excellence, leadership, school spirit, and involvement across a wide range of activities. Members of the Class of 2026 made their mark through athletics, music, FFA, performing arts, student leadership, and community service while also preparing for futures that included college, career technical education, military service, and workforce opportunities.
Superintendent Kraig Hissong reflected on the significance of the graduating class and the impact students made during their time at West Liberty-Salem.
“The Class of 2026 represents so much of what makes West Liberty-Salem special. This group is filled with students who led by example, supported one another, and poured themselves into our school and community. From athletes and musicians to FFA members, performers, honor students, leaders, and students entering the workforce, military, and colleges across the country, they have each found their own way to leave a lasting impact. What stands out most about this class is not just what they accomplished, but the relationships they built, the pride they showed in being Tigers, and the way they consistently showed up for each other. We are incredibly proud of the Class of 2026 and can’t wait to see what comes next for them.”
