The Logan County Sheriff’s Office says a West Mansfield man was arrested Saturday after a series of incidents that included an attempted robbery, a domestic complaint, and a brief standoff with deputies and the Bellefontaine Police SWAT team.

The situation began around 1 p.m. when the victim reported that 26-year-old Raijuan White had repeatedly shown up at her home, leaving love letters and flowers.

She also told deputies he took her car and dog without permission the day before.

The car was later returned, and she chose not to file charges at that time.

She reported that White came back on Saturday and took her dog again.

He was reportedly wearing camouflage pants, a black hoodie, and a black ski mask.

A short time later, around 1:30 p.m., dispatch received a 911 call from a resident on the 100 block of South Main Street reporting an attempted robbery.

The caller said White confronted his brother and sister-in-law with a knife, demanded their belongings, and then wrestled with him before running off.

Deputies then went to White’s home and tried to contact him.

He briefly opened the back door, then shut it and refused to come out, and wouldn’t respond to law enforcement.

The Bellefontaine Police SWAT team arrived to assist deputies.

After repeated commands and several flashbangs, White surrendered at the front door without further trouble.

He was taken to the Logan County Jail on a charge of attempted aggravated robbery.

Deputies say they found a ski mask, camouflage pants, a knife wrapped in plastic, two letters, fake flowers, and a 9mm magazine that belonged to White.

Additionally, on Sunday, deputies also received a statement from a bank employee in West Mansfield.

She reported that just after noon on Saturday, a masked man she believed to be White approached her car, asked to get in, and pulled on the passenger door before walking away.

He didn’t threaten her or show a weapon, but she said the encounter left her shaken.

The investigation is ongoing, and more charges may be added.
