White’s Ford in Urbana has permanently closed, with the announcement made Friday, Dec. 19, marking the end of a long-running local business.

In a message shared on social media, the dealership thanked customers, employees and the community for years of loyalty and support, saying it was grateful to be part of Urbana’s story.

White’s roots go back to 1948, when Noel White opened a dealership on North Main Street. The family business grew over generations, eventually becoming a Ford dealership in 1982 and earning a reputation as a trusted, hometown institution.

The White family sold the business in 2024 after more than 75 years of family ownership. New owners continued operating under the White’s name, but the dealership closed less than two years later, bringing an era in Urbana to a close.
