Wednesday afternoon, a Maplewood woman was arrested for operating a vehicle while impaired (OVI) following a close encounter with a patrol car in the Indian Lake School Zone.
The incident happened while a Washington Township officer was conducting stationary patrol duties.
The driver, identified as 36-year-old Ashley Hill, nearly rear-ended the patrol car before going left of center.
The officer quickly pulled over Hill and noticed she showed several signs of intoxication.
She struggled to maintain her balance and nearly fell several times as she exited her vehicle.
Hill then failed field sobriety tests and was arrested.
After arriving at the Logan County Jail she refused further testing.
Hill was cited for OVI and a marked lane violation, and later released to a sober driver.
