Woodstock restaurant owner reports theft of over $10,000

According to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office, a Woodstock bar owner reported that a former employee admitted to stealing more than $10,000 from the business.

Deputies were dispatched this past Saturday, January 3, 2026, to contact Jamie Gaines, owner of the Stockhouse Bar and Grill at 106 N. Main St., regarding a theft complaint. Gaines told deputies he had confronted the employee earlier that day and had terminated his employment.

The former employee, identified as 33-year-old North Lewisburg resident Victor Seif, reportedly admitted to taking the money. The reported loss totals $10,250, allegedly from Ohio Lottery Keno proceeds.

No arrest has been made at this time, according to the sheriff’s office.
