Logan County Commissioner Mike Yoder recently resigned from his position on the Ohio Power Siting Board and has appointed local businessman Thomas Reynolds as his successor.
Reynolds shared his thoughts on the appointment, stating, “My task is to be a good listener and to represent the citizens of Logan County.”
As he steps into this important role, Reynolds is expected to play a key part in shaping the future of energy infrastructure in Logan County while keeping the community’s best interests at heart.
Yoder said, “During a brainstorming session when trying to decide who would replace me, Scott Coleman (Logan County Engineer) suggested Tom,” he went on to note, “he is someone who lives outside of the Indian Lake area, so he wouldn’t have a conflict, then he agreed to serve in the position.”
The Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) is composed of several people in the state government, alongside Reynolds.
The board is chaired by the Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission, who serves as the Chairman of the Board.
Other members include the Director of the Environmental Protection Agency, the Director of the Department of Agriculture, the Director of the Department of Development, the Director of the Department of Health, and the Director of the Department of Natural Resources.
Additionally, the OPSB also includes one representative from a Logan County Township, ensuring local voices are heard in decisions that impact the community.
