Deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 4000 block of Alpine Parkway in Zanesfield in reference to a menacing complaint Monday morning around 5:30.

Upon their arrival, the caller reported his fiance was accosted by their neighbor as she was leaving for work that morning.

He reported getting a phone call from her. She was distraught as their neighbor had stepped from the shadows in their yard when she was getting into her car to leave for work. The neighbor was shouting profanities as she was frantically trying to get inside her car. As she approached the entrance/exit of the trailer park to leave, the neighbor was standing in the road and was still shouting at her while holding a cane.

The female was able to drive out and get away from him.

The victim’s fiance advised authorities they have been having issues with their neighbor’s bizarre behavior for the past couple of weeks. He said they caught their neighbor on their outdoor cameras crawling through their front yard in the middle of the night on August 18. Other odd occurrences have happened since this incident.

He said he had no idea why their neighbor had targeted them and continued to lash out at them. He stated the neighbor is always drunk and may be using drugs, too.

While unable to locate the neighbor, deputies reviewed records of the August 18 incident and found that the neighbor was identified as Justin Edlen, 30.

Authorities then located a Jeep Grand Cherokee sitting in the parking lot of Mad River Mountain with a male sitting in the driver’s seat. The jeep was registered to Edlen.

Upon arrival, the male was identified as Edlen. He denied having any involvement in an incident involving the neighbor. Deputies could smell a heavy odor of alcohol on his breath.

Edlen was placed under arrest for menacing, trespassing, and disorderly conduct.

He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
