The Raiders competed this weekend in the OHSAA DII Southwest District Championships.
With wrestling tough and competing at a high level the Raiders finished with 5 District Placers with 3 becoming State Qualifiers.
The team also placed 4th out of 48 teams.
Starting off for the Raiders State Qualifiers is freshman Cooper Buck.
Cooper is the 1st Freshman State Qualifier in program history. Cooper finished the tournament in 4th place.
Qualifying for state at 138 was Senior Evan Carpenter with a 4th place finish.
Qualifying for state at 175 was Senior Kameron Larson with a Runner-up finish.
Placing 5th and will be making the trip as an alternate are 132 Freshman Owen Weaks and 165 Freshman Hayden Hites.
These two freshmen also join Cooper as the first freshmen to place at districts.
The OHSAA Championships will be held this coming weekend.
Sunday the Benjamin Logan Girls Wrestling team competed at the Marysville High School Regional Tournament.
Competing for the Raiders were Livi Achor, Raegan Hites, and Sophia Harris.
As a team, they finished 13th out of over 70 teams.
Making school history by becoming the first State qualifier in girl’s wrestling was Raegan Hites securing a third-place finish.
Shortly afterward first-year wrestler Sophia Harris became the school’s second girls’ State Qualifier finishing fourth place.
The ladies will compete this upcoming weekend at the OHSSA State Championships.
