In an intense postseason showdown, the #8 seed Benjamin Logan boys soccer team triumphed over #6 seed Indian Lake with a score of 3-2, advancing to the district semifinals.

The match took place Saturday night, setting the stage for the Raiders to face off against top-seeded Jonathan Alder next Tuesday at 7 PM.

The Raiders wasted no time, with Brock Henry scoring just four minutes into the game after connecting with a throw-in from Landon Stoodt.

Indian Lake responded quickly, leveling the score after 12 minutes, and then taking the lead in the 28th minute.

The momentum shifted again when Owen Jordan headed in another throw from Stoodt, tying the game at 2-2 just before halftime.

The decisive moment came when Aidan Todd executed a quick-thinking free kick, putting the Raiders ahead 3-2 with 30 minutes remaining in the match.

From there, Benjamin Logan showcased strong defensive skills, successfully fending off Indian Lake’s attempts to equalize.

With this victory, the Raiders’ record improved to 9-5-5, while Indian Lake concluded their season at 12-5-2.

Coach Hughes praised his team’s performance, stating, “That was the exact game I thought it would be—tight, physical, and emotional. Both teams have had great seasons, but I thought we were the better team heading into tonight’s game, and we got the win. I’m super proud of our guys for doing all the little things that needed to be done. We have advanced past this game three of the past four years, and while it’s a county rival, we expected to get to the next round. We believe we are talented enough to beat #1 seed Alter. I know the guys will be excited, and our fans will be behind us.”

The upcoming match against Alter will be a challenging test, but the Raiders are confident in their abilities as they prepare for another crucial encounter.
