Daniels wins pole vault, Stinebaugh claims triple jump to open indoor track season

The indoor track and field season is officially underway for area high schools, and local athletes are making an immediate impact. Indian Lake and Benjamin Logan showcased strong performances this past weekend, with standout individual efforts from the Raiders’ Carter Daniels and the Lakers’ Aidan Stinebaugh.

Benjamin Logan’s Carter Daniels Wins Event at Heidelberg University

Benjamin Logan High School senior Carter Daniels captured first place in the pole vault event at the Heidelberg University High School Indoor Track Meet on Saturday, clearing a jump of 15 feet to top a field of 22 athletes.

Daniels has continued to improve in practice, recently recording a jump of 15 feet, 6 inches, as he works toward the 16-foot mark. Focused on steady progress, the senior hopes to compete at the next level, with long-term goals that include exploring opportunities at the United States Military Academy at West Point or the United States Naval Academy.

Indian Lake Indoor Track Starts Season at Ohio Northern University

Indian Lake High School’s indoor track and field team got off to a strong start this season competing at Ohio Northern University. Athletes turned in impressive performances across multiple events.

  • 1st place: Aidan Stinebaugh — Triple Jump (38-4.5)

  • 2nd place: Wyatt Whitsett — Triple Jump (33-9.5)

  • 2nd place: Haley Metzger — Triple Jump (25-0)
