West Liberty-Salem High School senior Isaac Sertell has signed his letter of commitment to continue his academic and athletic career at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, where he will play baseball for the Cougars.
Family members, Tiger coaches, travel ball coaches, teammates, and friends gathered Thursday evening to celebrate the milestone, recognizing the years of dedication that led to the opportunity. Competing at the collegiate level is earned through steady commitment, and Sertell’s journey reflects countless early mornings, extra batting cage sessions, long tournament weekends, and time spent in the weight room working to improve his game.
During his time at West Liberty-Salem, Sertell represented the Tigers with toughness, coachability, and a team-first mindset. Those qualities earned him the respect of teammates and coaches while helping set the standard within the program.
Sertell has also maintained a strong commitment to academics, successfully balancing the demands of being a high-level student-athlete. His discipline in the classroom, combined with his work ethic on the field, has positioned him for continued success at the collegiate level.
West Liberty-Salem is proud of Isaac’s accomplishments and grateful for the leadership and character he demonstrated throughout his career. The school community looks forward to following his continued success at Mount Vernon Nazarene University as he begins the next chapter.
