The West Liberty-Salem Tigers already expected a tough matchup Tuesday night when they put their 3-game win streak on the line at home against the Anna Rockets, but when they lost another one of their star players to injury, there was not much left that could be done as the Rockets blasted their way past the Tigers, 65-38.

Anna started out strong to begin with, taking a quick 22-6 lead in the first quarter, but the Tigers responded well in the second, holding the Rockets to just 9 points in the quarter and making ground on the scoreboard, but with just 4 seconds left in the half, junior forward Carson Poppe fell to the floor while driving into the lane for a shot.

He left the game with a knee injury and did not return. Coach Darrin Leichty discusses the loss.

Poppe joins junior guard Brevin Louden and senior forward Taran Logwood with what appears to be season-ending knee injuries.

Isaiah Reames led the Tigers with 8 points.

The Tigers fall to 10-9 on the season and will face Northeastern at home Friday.

The Benjamin Logan Raiders hosted Elgin and lost 51-41.

Maddox Vermillion led the team with 9 points. Cayden Brown added 7 points.

The JV Raiders defeated Elgin 62-32. Adam Tinsman scored 11 points.

Diesel Baughman and Owen Stratton each added 10 points.

The Lady Pirates beat Fairlawn 43-28.

Riverside came out strong, setting the tone early with a commanding 16-4 lead in the first quarter.

In the third quarter, the ladies kept up the momentum, pushing their advantage to 37-16, and ultimately finishing with a 43-28 win.

Avery Perk led the charge for the Lady Pirates, scoring 11 points.

Aubree Huston and Kenna Johnson both contributed with 7 points each.

With a 5-15 overall record, Riverside will face Milton Union on Thursday night for Senior Night.
