Area high school and middle school teams hit the court Monday.
Varsity girls:
Calvary Christian defeated East Dayton Christian 51-25.
Hannah Marlow recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, Abigail Reinhard had 10 points, 8 steals, and 4 assists, Julie Childers netted 6 points, Kari Gantz and Madhuri Cook each chipped in 5, Anna Kratz and Nora Thornton added 4 points each, and Karlie Penhorwood added 3 assists and 3 rebounds.
Calvary improves to 9-2 overall and 9-0 in the OVCC.
Indian Lake beat Lima Senior 33-30.
Mackenzie Dixon pitched in 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals.
The JV Lady Lakers tied Lima Senior at 12 in a 2 quarter contest.
Harly Kinninger had 7.
Triad lost to Urbana 57-26.
For the Lady Cardinals, Kaley Nott had 8 points and 5 rebounds, Mia LeMay tossed in 5 points with 8 rebounds, and Ashlyn McCoy pulled down 9 rebounds.
Alex Dixon had 29 for the Hillclimbers. Peyton Mounce chipped in 15 points and 20 rebounds.
Triad is now 3-19.
The Lady Cardinal’s JV team plays Tuesday at Shekinah at 5:30 p.m. in a JV-only game.
Triad’s varsity team will hit the court again Saturday against Russia at Sidney High School at 4 p.m. in their first-round tournament game.
Middle School:
The boys’ CBC Tournament is underway and Urbana’s Middle School teams swept Bellefontaine.
The 7th-grade Hillclimbers won 52-23.
Case Teepe led Urbana with 12 points and Drew Dixon had 10.
For the Chiefs, Reign St. Clair finished with 9 points, and Sam Jenkins and Lincoln Banta each scored 4.
In the 8th-grade game, Urbana won 51-42.
Grady Lantz had 25 for the Hillclimbers.
Indian Lake’s 8th-grade team beat Northwestern 43-34.
The 8th-grade Lakers will host Urbana in the semi-finals Thursday at 5:30.
The Benjamin Logan 7th-grade boys lost to Tecumseh 31-27.
Maddox Vermillion scored 9 and Caden Powell chipped in with 8.
