Area Cheer Squads Compete at National Championships

Many area high school cheerleading teams traveled to Florida this past weekend to compete in the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship.

The competitions were held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex from February 9th through the 12th.

In Varsity Non-Building Division II, the Urbana Hillclimbers placed 8th.

The Northeastern High School placed 3rd in their Game Day Routine.

Northwestern placed 9th in the Traditional routine and 13th in Game Day Routine.

Lastly, Marysville High School placed in the top 10 in their Game Day Routine.

UCA High School Cheer Nationals shines a spotlight on the top teams across the country.

Approximately 1,200 teams across 34 states competed.

The National High School Cheerleading Championship, produced by Universal Cheerleaders Association, a Varsity Spirit brand, is the most prestigious cheerleading championship in the country.
