Area swim teams competed at the Sectional meet over the weekend at Trotwood-Madison.
The Bellefontaine girls finished 6th place as a team.
Qualifying to Districts:

Many swimmers achieved personal best times throughout the meet including drops from Alexis Buffkin -1.95 500 Free, Ashton Carey -10.23 500 Free & -1.53 50 Free, Maria Casanas -3.34 100 Free, Madison Christman -3.06 100 Breast, Ella Costin -12.85 200 Free, Emma Costin -8.66 500 Free, Kaeleigh Flora -3.77 200 IM & -2.98 100 Fly, Kaidi Freeman -3.62 100 Back, Claire Grandstaff -1.34 50 Free, Claire McDaniel -4.17 100 Breast, Kate Myers -1.03 100 Fly & -1.38 100 Back, Zoey Rister -0.61 100 Free, Michelle Roberts -1.86 50 Free, Gillian Steele -4.14 200 Free, Elaina Ullom -2.62 100 Free, and Maddie Ullom -8.92 200 IM & -1.86 100 Back.
“Our team has so much to be proud of; only 32 individuals and 24 relays from a total of 7 Sectional pools advance to the District meet and we have 5 athletes involved in 6 District races,” said BHS Head Coach Sharon Lewis. “I am proud of each of our girls for the work they have put in all season in order to get to this point. From best times to moving on, each of our athletes had success throughout this season.”
The Chieftain boys also took 6th at Sectionals.
Blake McDonald won the Sectional Championship in the 100 Backstroke.

Personal best times were achieved in many of our races including top drops from Cooper Harman -10.2 in 200 IM, Ryan Alexander -4.27 in 500 Free, Jaylen Henry -1.47 in 50 Free & -1.66 in 100 Back, Cody Hudson -4.86 in 100 Free, Blaine Mitchell -4.15 50 Free, and Blake McDonald -1.74 in 100 back.
“I am proud of each of our boys for the work they have put in all season in order to get to this point,” said Coach Lewis. “From best times to moving on, each of our athletes had success during this meet.”
Districts will take place on Friday morning at Miami University for the boys and Friday evening for the girls.
The Benjamin Logan boys and girls both finished 12th out of 18 teams at Sectionals.
Advancing for the boys:
Robert Leezer in 100 Breast with a new school record time of 1:06.82 qualifying in 19th place.
Luke McKenrick in 200 Free with a personal best time of 2:06.70 qualifying in 22nd place.
Luke McKenrick in 100 Free with a time of 55.07 qualifying in 31st place.
The 200 Free Relay of Robert Leezer, Liam Sweeney, Utah Coleman, and Luke McKenrick with a time of 1:44.29 qualifying as 2nd alternate.
For the Lady Raiders:
The 200 Medley Relay of Annika Chappell, Winnie Bodin, Allison Moore, and Liberty Hays with a time of 2:12.61 qualified in 24th place.
The boys had many individual PRs including:

Indian Lake also have swimmers moving on to Districts.
For the Lady Lakers, the 200 Free (Ashlyn Beiderman, Paige Mefford, Grace Pequignot and Lily Jenkins) and 400 Free (Mefford, Pequignot, Annie Braig and Jenkins) relays advanced. Jenkins also qualified in the 100 Butterfly, again breaking her own school record.

For the boys, the Lakers 400 free relay team advance (Chris Gillian, Caleb Altstaetter, Grant McPherson and Brant Parsell) and the 200 medley relay team (Gillian, Mason Beres, Parsell and McPherson) will go to districts as an alternate. Parsell also qualified as an individual in the 50 and 500 free and setting a new school record.
Districts will take place on Friday morning at Miami University for the boys and Friday evening for the girls at Miami University.
