Area teams are readying for OHSAA soccer tournament action

The 2025 OHSAA high school soccer tournaments are set to begin next week, and several area teams will look to make their mark on the postseason stage. Local programs across multiple divisions are gearing up for opening-round and quarterfinal matchups this week as the road to district titles begins.

Here’s a breakdown of opening-round games for local teams:

GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER

Division III – Region 10

Southwest 1

Opening Round: No. 11 Bellefontaine vs No. 13 Piqua
Mon. Oct. 13 – 7:00 PM @ Bellefontaine HS

Bellefontaine begins postseason play at home, hosting Piqua in the lone opening round matchup in the Southwest Region of Division III. The Lady Chieftains aim to capitalize on home-field advantage.

The winner will advance to face No. 5 Sidney in the District Quarterfinals.

Division IV – Region 15

Southwest 2

District Quarterfinal: No. 13 Graham vs No. 17 Indian Lake
Thu. Oct. 16 – 7:00 PM @ Graham HS

A local showdown is set between Graham and Indian Lake as both teams look to extend their seasons. The Lady Falcons will try to defend their home turf, while the Lakers aim to pull off the upset.

The winner moves on to play the winner of No. 1 Alter vs. No. 16 Carlisle in the District Semifinals.

Southwest 3

District Quarterfinal: No. 6 Benjamin Logan vs No. 11 Northwestern
Thu. Oct. 16 – 7:00 PM @ Benjamin Logan HS

Benjamin Logan opens its tournament run at home against Northwestern. The Lady Raiders enter as the higher seed and hope to continue their strong regular-season momentum.

The winner advances to face the winner of No. 6 Brookville vs. No. 10 Milton-Union in the District Semifinals.

Southwest 4

District Semifinal: No. 5 Urbana vs winner of No. 2 Miami East / No. 18 Meadowdale
Mon. Oct. 20 – 7:00 PM @ TBA

Urbana’s postseason begins in the district semifinals, where the Hillclimbers await the winner of Miami East and Meadowdale. The Hillclimbers will look to continue their strong campaign with a chance to move one step closer to a district title.

Division V – Region 17

Southwest 2

District Quarterfinal: No. 11 West Liberty-Salem vs No. 8 Lehman Catholic
Thu. Oct. 16 – 5:00 PM @ Lehman Catholic HS

West Liberty-Salem draws a tough road test against Lehman Catholic in the opening round. The Lady Tigers will rely on their defense and teamwork as they look to pull the upset.

The winner moves on to the District Semifinals, where the winner of No. 5 Preble Shawnee vs. No. 13 Tri-County North awaits.

Southwest 3

District Quarterfinal: No. 16 Calvary Christian vs No. 2 Greeneview
Thu. Oct. 16 – 7:00 PM @ Greeneview HS

Calvary Christian faces a major challenge as they travel to take on second-seeded Greeneview. The Lady Spartans will look to play fearless soccer in hopes of springing a postseason surprise.

The winner advances to face the No. 9 Southeastern vs No. 10 Twin Valley South winner in the District Semifinals.

BOYS HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER

Division III – Region 11

Southwest 3

District Quarterfinal: No. 8 Urbana vs No. 7 Kenton Ridge
Sat. Oct. 18 – 7:00 PM @ Kenton Ridge HS

Urbana hits the road to face Kenton Ridge in a tightly matched district quarterfinal. The Hillclimbers will look to keep their postseason alive with a strong showing.

The winner advances to face the winner of No. 4 Butler vs. No. 15 Ponitz in the District Semifinals.

Southwest 1

Opening Round: No. 14 Bellefontaine vs No. 2 Tippecanoe
Tue. Oct. 14 – 7:00 PM @ Red Devils Stadium at City Park

Bellefontaine opens tournament play with a tough draw against second-seeded Tippecanoe. The Chieftains will look to rise to the occasion and embrace their underdog role.

The winner moves on to face No. 17 Greenville in the District Quarterfinals.

Division IV – Region 15

Southwest 2

Opening Round: No. 13 Graham vs No. 3 Bethel
Tue. Oct. 14 – 7:00 PM @ Bethel HS

Graham travels to Bethel for a first-round matchup in the Division IV bracket. The Falcons will look to pull off an upset against the higher-seeded Bees.

The winner advances to face No. 12 Miami East in the District Quarterfinals.

Opening Round: No. 7 Benjamin Logan vs No. 9 Greenon
Tue. Oct. 14 – 7:00 PM @ Benjamin Logan HS

Benjamin Logan hosts Greenon in an opening-round contest between two evenly matched squads. The Raiders aim to use their home crowd to their advantage as they push toward a district quarterfinal spot.

The winner meets the No. 4 Waynesville vs No. 15 Greeneview winner in the District Quarterfinals.

West Liberty-Salem opens its postseason at home against Milton-Union, as the Tigers look to start strong in front of their fans.

The winner advances to a District Quarterfinal meeting with No. 8 Indian Lake.

Division V – Region 19

Southwest 1

District Quarterfinal: No. 9 Calvary Christian vs No. 7 Jackson Center
Sat. Oct. 18 – 5:00 PM @ Jackson Center HS

Calvary Christian travels to Jackson Center for district quarterfinal action. The Spartans will seek to keep their season alive with a road victory.

The winner moves on to play the winner of No. 6 Preble Shawnee vs. No. 10 Emmanuel Christian Academy in the District Semifinals.
