Belle Center’s 10U Buckeye Scratch-N-Dent team claimed the Logan County Championship for the second consecutive year after defeating Indian Lake 7-1 Monday night.
On the mound for Belle Center, Danyka Iiams dominated with 14 strikeouts and allowed just one hit.
She also contributed offensively, hitting a home run in the bottom of the first inning.
Belle Center jumped out to an early lead, scoring three runs in the first inning, and steadily extended its advantage by adding runs across the next three innings.
Scarlett Smitke led Belle Center’s offense with two hits, while Campbell Spriggs, Olivia Marshall, Nalla Shaffer, and Iiams each contributed a hit.
Indian Lake’s offense was led by Eden Kaser, who went 1-for-2 at the plate.
On the mound, Alexis Meeker pitched well, striking out 12 batters.
Belle Center earned its spot in the championship by defeating DeGraff and then edging out Zanesfield 9-4 in two extra innings.
The championship win capped off an impressive season for Belle Center, finishing with a 10-1 record.
