Baseball: Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan, Riverside pick up wins; Graham tops Indian Lake

Bellefontaine 12 Urbana 8
The Bellefontaine Varsity Chiefs held off Urbana in a 12–8 victory Monday.

Patrick Stolly led the Chiefs at the plate, going 3-for-4 with singles in the second, third, and fifth innings.

Bellefontaine got on the board early with a pair of runs in the first and followed with a five-run second inning powered by Stolly and Sutton Daring, who delivered a two-run single.

Spencer Stolly started on the mound, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits over five innings, striking out two.

Luke Levan pitched in relief. Bellefontaine totaled 11 hits, with Brody Boy, Stolly, and Aven Caudill each driving in two runs.

Daring went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases as Bellefontaine swiped eight bags overall.

The Chiefs also turned a double play and will face Tecumseh on the road Tuesday.

Riverside 4 Jackson Center 3
Riverside celebrated Senior Night with a narrow 4–3 win over Jackson Center at home.

Landon Purtee earned the win, tossing six innings of two-run ball with five strikeouts.

Brody Orsborne closed the game with a one-inning save, striking out three.

Gavin Orsborne led the Pirates offensively, going 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, and an RBI.

Orsborne laid down a sacrifice bunt for an RBI in the fourth, then executed a suicide squeeze two innings later to give Riverside a 3–2 lead.

Hayden McCully added a sacrifice fly for insurance.

Riverside improved to 7–10 on the season.

Benjamin Logan 10 Northwestern 6
Benjamin Logan used a six-run ninth inning to pull away from Northwestern in a 10–6 extra-innings win on Monday.

Parker Yelton got the Raiders started in the second inning with a two-run single.

The game remained close until the ninth, when five hits and an error fueled a six-run outburst.

Jacob Hawley picked up the win in relief, pitching four innings with four strikeouts while allowing just two runs.

Starter Bryden Morris struck out nine over five innings and allowed four runs (two earned).

Camden Spriggs went 3-for-5 at the plate, and Carter Lyden drove in two runs.

Benjamin Logan totaled nine hits and 11 walks, with five stolen bases and a double play on defense.

They host Northwestern again on Wednesday.

Graham Local 7 Indian Lake 1
Adam Levy struck out 13 and gave up just three hits in a dominant complete-game performance as Graham Local defeated Indian Lake 7–1.

The Falcons responded quickly after falling behind 1–0 in the top of the first, scoring three in the bottom half on a two-run double by Breyton Reisinger and an RBI single from Dylan LaFollette.

Graham added runs in the third on a bunt by Jack Traylor and another RBI single from LaFollette.

The Falcons totaled 10 hits and were perfect in the field, with Zach Wheeland leading the defense with 13 chances.

LaFollette and Reisinger both had two hits and two RBIs.

Indian Lake’s lone run came on a groundout by Bryce Burton.

Madden Lillard took the loss, giving up seven runs (five earned) over five innings.

Tyler Tidwell went 2-for-3 for the Lakers, who will face Graham again on Wednesday.
