The Bellefontaine boys cross country team had an impressive showing at the Bob Schul Invitational, with Hayden Maus taking first place in the Division 1/Division 2 race.
Maus finished the 232-runner field in 16:07, leading a strong performance from the rest of the team.
Jake Moreland placed ninth in 16:55, and Oliver Grandstaff crossed the line 11th with a personal record of 16:58.
Additional top finishers for the Chiefs included Will Myers (33rd, 17:51), Andrew Myers (59th, PR 18:43), Landon Gerwels (60th, 18:44), and Brenden Murray (66th, PR 18:58).
Other team members included Tristyn Wilson (198th, 24:15), Brayten Swisher (220th, PR 27:02), and Jake Christen (236th, 32:17).
Bellefontaine finished fourth out of sixteen teams in the D1/D2 competition, ending the race with a season record of 17-3.
Team scores were tight, with West Liberty first at 46, Oakwood second at 100, and Bellefontaine tying Granville at 111.
