Bellefontaine boys’ golf wins on 5th-man tiebreak to highlight Thursday golf scores

Several area golf teams were in action Thursday, with Bellefontaine’s boys winning a tight match against Tecumseh, while North Union defeated the Bellefontaine girls and Benjamin Logan picked up a win over Graham.

Boys – Bellefontaine 175, Tecumseh 175

The Bellefontaine Chieftains earned a hard-fought victory over Tecumseh Thursday, with the match ending tied at 175-175.

The Chieftains won the match on the fifth-man tiebreaker.

Ean Fultz led Bellefontaine with a 41, finishing second overall. Noah Smith followed with a 44, while Hudson Banta and Keaton Dinovo each carded a 45.

Tyler Rossey finished with a 46, and Colson Garver posted a 47.

For the JV Chieftains, Sammy Strayer shot a 44 with two birdies. Christian Sterling recorded a season-best 50, while Beckett Kessler finished with a 63.

Girls – North Union 191, Bellefontaine 203

The Bellefontaine Lady Chieftains fell to North Union 203-191 Thursday.

Allison Myers led Bellefontaine with a career-low 45. Olivia Dearwester followed with a 50, while Paxton Stewart carded a 53.

Ella Fultz finished with a 55, and Eden Smith also recorded a career-low 55.

Girls – Benjamin Logan 211, Graham 225

The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders defeated Graham 211-225 Thursday night in a dual match at Lakeland Golf Course.

Catherine Bramlage led the Raiders with a 49. Leah Braddock and Kaylynn Crumm each finished with a 53, while Sophia “River” VanVoorhis carded a 56.

Montana Coleman finished with a 67, followed by Kaydence Hamlin with a 69. Elizabeth Bramlage shot a 73, Alayna Johnson had a 76 and Laurel Smith finished with a 78.

Benjamin Logan improves to 3-2 in CBC play this season.

The Lady Raiders return to action Monday against Indian Lake at Prairie View Golf Course.

Bellefontaine’s girls will return to action September 1 at Liberty Hills against Tecumseh.
