The Bellefontaine Chieftain boys tennis team hosted Springboro on Wednesday night and came up short, falling 4-1.
Springboro swept the singles matches:
- 1st Singles: M. Sighl def. Max Fissel (B) 6-4, 7-6 (7-5)
- 2nd Singles: O. August def. Elias Abrego (B) 6-0, 6-3
- 3rd Singles: J. Ryau def. Quinn Slagle (B) 6-0, 6-0
Bellefontaine earned its lone win in 1st Doubles, where Bryce Harris and Xavier Sims battled back to defeat Fott and Hernandez 2-6, 6-4, 7-5.
In 2nd Doubles, Stgughson and Courtney of Springboro beat Lane Howard and Lorenz Henry (B) 6-0, 6-1.
The Chieftains return to action Friday with a road doubleheader at Milton-Union and Sidney.
The match at Milton-Union is set to begin at 4:30 p.m.
