The Bellefontaine Chiefs 12U baseball team went 4-0 over the weekend to win the Mid-May Double Play Tournament in Kenton.
Saturday:
In game one, the Chiefs beat the Vandals 12U, 8-6. Tovan Benton Jr., Brentlee Bach, and Caleb Palmer each had two hits.
In game two, they defeated the Bluffton Pirates 12U, 13-1.
Brentlee Bach hit two doubles.
Korbin Smith added a triple.
Jax Fleming had a double.
Will Robb, Jack Fissel, Parker Artis, and Sawyer Vermillion all had singles.
Sunday:
The Chiefs entered bracket play as the No. 2 seed and came from behind to beat Crawford County Coyotes-Witter 12U, 7-4.
Jax Fleming, Jack Fissel, and Will Rob led in stolen bases.
In the championship, the Chiefs beat Wyandot County Tribe 12U, 12-1.
Every player recorded a hit and multiple stolen bases.
Jax Fleming started on the mound, with Parker Artis closing.
Tovan Benton Jr. hit an inside-the-park home run.
The Chiefs were crowned tournament champions.
