Eighth Grade – Bellefontaine 2, Urbana 1
The Bellefontaine eighth-grade girls battled Urbana in a three-set match, with the Chieftains coming away with a 2-1 victory.
Bellefontaine dropped the opening set 24-26 before rallying to win the second set 27-25. The Chieftains then closed out the match with a 25-21 victory in the third set.
Skylar Phan led the Chieftains with 34 digs, along with one kill, two assists and two aces.
Arianna Rumer added 15 digs, two kills, 10 assists and an ace, while Alivia Rogan recorded nine digs, seven kills and two aces.
Evie Schmidt finished with seven digs, five kills, seven assists and an ace. Braelynn Neer added five kills, one block and six aces.
Myra Varner contributed five kills and a dig, while Charley Frazier had three digs, two kills, an assist and an ace.
Amaya Branson added four digs, Me’lah Conklin had two kills, Marissa Oaks recorded nine digs and Mia Regula finished with two digs.
The victory improves the Chieftains to 6-2 on the season.
