The Bellefontaine girls tennis team came up just short Tuesday, falling to Jonathan Alder 3-2.
The Chieftains picked up two victories in singles play. At first singles, Mia Brown defeated Hooley 6-3, 7-5 to improve to 8-2 on the season.
At second singles, Olivia Warye fell to Johnson 3-6, 1-6, while Bella Barton was defeated by Ruth 1-6, 1-6 at third singles.
Bellefontaine earned its second victory at first doubles, where Rylee Crabtree and Oriana Vasquez defeated Reed and Wiltshire 6-4, 6-0.
At second doubles, Pulfer and Arruza fell to Talik and Thomas 1-6, 4-6.
Bellefontaine will look to bounce back Wednesday when the Chieftains travel to Lima Bath.
