The Bellfontaine Lady Chieftains hosted the Springfield Shawnee Braves on Thursday night and delivered a strong performance, earning a four-set victory: 25-16, 22-25, 25-14, 25-21.
Offensively, Presley Vigansky and Kelsie Snapp led the charge with 13 kills each, followed closely by Kaeleigh Flora with 11 kills and Ava Layman with 10 kills. Setter Madilynn Zedeker orchestrated the attack with 47 assists, distributing the ball effectively to keep the Braves on their heels.
Defensively, Ari Rangle stood tall at the net with 2 solo blocks, while Jillian Ullom anchored the back row with 28 digs. Zedeker added 13 digs, Snapp had 12, Layman contributed 8, and Flora chipped in 7.
From the service line, Vigansky was flawless, going 25/25 with 7 aces. Zedeker followed with 3 aces on 19/19 serving. Flora added an ace on 15/15 serving, and Snapp tallied 4 aces, going 15/16.
With the win, the Chieftains improve to 10-3 on the season.
JV Red showed resilience after a tough first set loss, bouncing back to win the second set before narrowly falling in the third: 25-2, 21-25. 26-24.
Lexey Brown led the offense with 6 kills, while also contributing 6 digs, a solo block, and perfect serving. Alayna Boyd added 3 kills, a solo block, and an ace. Brooklyne Kuntz served up 3 aces and had 4 digs. Rosie Lightle and Lexi McKirahan both served perfectly, with Lightle adding 7 digs and 5 assists, and McKirahan contributing 4 digs. Lyla Conner had 2 aces, a solo block, and went 8/9 serving. Ariane Moser added 2 kills and a block.
JV Black fell in two sets: 25-18, 25-13. They displayed solid play and effort throughout.
Diana Martinez led with 6 kills, 6 digs, an ace, and perfect serving. Rosie Lightle added 11 assists, 5 digs, and perfect serving. Hailey Augustus contributed 3 aces, while Ariane Moser added 2 kills. Madylin Jenkins had 5 digs, Lexi McKirahan added 6 digs and perfect serving, and Rylyn Hoskins Rose chipped in with a kill, 2 digs, and an ace. Addison Smith added 2 kills.
The Chieftains return to action Saturday as they host Triad in a non-conference matchup.
The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders volleyball team traveled to Kenton Ridge and fell in a sweep: 25-13, 25-15, 25-15.

The Indian Lake Volleyball team traveled to Urbana for a triple header.
The Indian Lake Varsity team improved to 13-1 after a slow start, winning in 4 sets:
24-26, 25-21, 25-12, 25-7.

- Mackenzie Miller had 12 kills, 16 digs, 1 ace, and 1 block

JV lost in 2: 26-24, 25-16. Addison Shoe had 3 kills and 2 aces. Ellie Zwiebel had 7 assists and 2 aces.
Riverside traveled to Northridge for a conference match up. Both squads played well and came away with wins.
The 8th-graders swept the win: 25-15, 25-15.

The WLS Tiger volleyball team hosted Southeastern. The varsity Tigers swept the Trojans in straight sets: 25-12, 25-5, 25-14. The Tigers are 10-2 (10-1 in OHC).
The JV Tigers beat the Trojans in 2 sets: 25-10, 25-21.
The 8th-grade Lady Tigers roared past the Cardinals in two sets: 25-5, 25-7. Their record is an impressive 11-2. The team earned 8 kills, 30 aces, 4 digs, and 8 assists in the match.
The 7th-grade side defeated Triad in two sets: 25-15, 25-14, pushing their record to 4-9. The team earned 19 kills, 17 aces, 27 digs, and 14 assists in the match.
