Bellefontaine High School and Lewistown Indian Lake swimmers were well represented Saturday at the Chieftain Invite, competing against a strong field of area programs. Bellefontaine’s boys team finished first overall, while the Chieftains’ girls placed fourth. Indian Lake athletes also posted several solid individual and relay performances.
Bellefontaine Girls Highlights
Bellefontaine’s girls were led by Brooklyne Kuntz, who had an outstanding meet. Kuntz won the 50-yard freestyle in 26.80 and followed that up with a victory in the 100-yard backstroke, touching the wall first in 1:05.61.
Kaeleigh Flora turned in multiple strong swims, placing second in the 200-yard individual medley (2:45.32) and third in the 100-yard butterfly (1:19.78). Flora was also part of the Chieftains’ 400-yard freestyle relay that finished second.
Other Bellefontaine girls results included:
Gillian Steele: 10th in the 50 freestyle; 7th in the 100 breaststroke
Clara Core: Fourth in the 500 freestyle
Allison Myers: Sixth in the 200 freestyle; eighth in the 100 freestyle
Ava Kunze: Fifth in the 100 butterfly
Chloe O’Chocke and Leila Hammond added points in freestyle and breaststroke events

Bellefontaine Boys Highlights
The Bellefontaine boys captured the team title, finishing first overall.
Cody Hudson led the way with a win in the 100-yard freestyle (59.49) and a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:21.26). Hudson also swam on the third-place 200 freestyle relay.
Will Myers placed second in the 500-yard freestyle and anchored Bellefontaine’s winning 400 freestyle relay, which touched first in 4:51.87.

Grady Feasel: Third in the 100 butterfly; sixth in the 50 freestyle
Beckham Harman: Third in the 100 backstroke; fourth in the 200 freestyle
Andrew Myers: Fifth in the 100 breaststroke
Landon Cook, Nicolas Herrera Diaz, and Graham Trittschuh contributed in multiple events and relays

Indian Lake Girls Highlights
Lewistown Indian Lake’s girls recorded several solid performances throughout the meet.
Reagan Rash placed sixth in the 100-yard freestyle, while Danica Braun finished sixth in the 500-yard freestyle. Indian Lake also fielded multiple relay teams and individual entries, gaining valuable experience against a competitive field.

The Lakers’ girls team finished seventh overall.
Indian Lake Boys Highlights
The Indian Lake boys were highlighted by a strong individual performance from Gavin Spring, who earned a victory in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching the wall first in 1:16.67.

Mason Spring and Matthew Culp competed in freestyle and backstroke events
