Bellefontaine Middle School Girls Basketball Teams Open Season with Wins

The Bellefontaine girls’ 7th and 8th-grade basketball teams both started their seasons with impressive victories over Bethel on Saturday.

The 7th grade Lady Chiefs secured a dominant 35-11 win against the Bethel Bees, relying on balanced scoring and solid defense. Kennedy Hairston led the way with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Annie Gallaway added 8 points and 4 steals, while Alexis Hogan chipped in 7 points and 3 assists. Gianna Davis and Brookelyn Oaks combined for 10 points to round out the scoring. The 7th grade team is now 1-0 and will travel to Ben Logan for their next game on December 2nd.

In the 8th grade game, the Chieftains defeated Bethel 35-14. Mia Brown led the way with 16 points, followed by Cameo Greene with 10 points. Rylee Crabtree scored 4 points, and Allie Myers, Leila Hammond, and Paxton Stewart added 2, 2, and 1 point respectively. Lexi Brown was a standout on defense, grabbing 10 rebounds and blocking three shots. Annie Clem also contributed valuable defensive minutes. The 8th grade team will also travel to Ben Logan on December 2nd for their next matchup.
