Bellefontaine sends seniors out with win; Tuesday boys’ basketball finals

A full slate of boys basketball games filled the area Tuesday night, highlighted by Senior Night in Bellefontaine, conference battles on the road, and several strong individual scoring performances as teams continue their push toward the postseason.

Bellefontaine 68, Piqua 54 

Bellefontaine celebrated Senior Night with a solid non-league win over Piqua, pulling away for a 68–54 victory Tuesday evening. The Chiefs controlled the tempo throughout and used balanced scoring to secure the win, improving to 10–10 on the season.

Grayson Lotts led Bellefontaine with 20 points, while Jair Mundy added 14. CJ Butler finished with 12 points, and Patrick Stolly chipped in nine. Piqua was led by Jay Hancock, who scored 20 points for the Indians.

In the JV game, Bellefontaine earned a 53–37 win behind 16 points from Terrence Hayes, 15 from Sutton Daring, and 10 from Sam Jenkins. The Chiefs also won the freshman contest 53–46, led by Zavion Perez with 17 points, Caden Nickles with 14, and Tyrin Johnson with 10.

Bellefontaine returns to action Friday at home against Kenton Ridge for the annual BHS Athletic Hall of Fame Recognition Night.

West Liberty-Salem 66, Anna 53

West Liberty-Salem picked up an impressive road win Tuesday night, defeating Anna 66–53 to improve to 17–3 overall and 12–2 in the OHC.

The Tigers received balanced scoring across the lineup, led by Sutton Wilcoxon with 16 points. Brandel Sullivan added 11, while Brevin Louden, Beckett Sullivan, and Troy Christison each scored 10. Elijah Christison finished with five points, and Carson Poppe and Sam Strapp added two apiece.

The West Liberty-Salem JVA team dropped a close contest to Anna, falling 36–32. Liam Barger led the Tigers with nine points, followed by Connor Leichty with seven and Casey Boyer with six.

West Liberty-Salem is back home Friday, February 13, against West Jefferson.

Ottawa-Glandorf 59, Indian Lake 47

Indian Lake fell on the road Tuesday night, losing 59–47 to Ottawa-Glandorf. Brodey Reisinger led the Lakers with 17 points, while Cooper Hall added 10.

In the JV game, Ottawa-Glandorf defeated Indian Lake 59–45. Nixon Lillard paced the Lakers with 19 points.

Upper Scioto Valley 74, Benjamin Logan 66

The Benjamin Logan Raiders came up short on the road Tuesday night, falling 74–66 at Upper Scioto Valley despite strong individual efforts.

Maddox Vermillion led the Raiders with 22 points, while Christian Rogan added 21 points along with three rebounds, three assists, and five steals. Peyton Vermillion finished with 12 points and eight rebounds, Roman Maxwell contributed seven points and five rebounds, and Carter Fay pulled down eight rebounds to go with three assists. Diesel Baughman added two points, two rebounds, and an assist.

The Benjamin Logan JV team picked up a dominant 56–14 win over USV. Gabe Predmore led the way with 19 points, and Adam Tinsman added six.
