On Friday, local baseball teams faced tough competition with mixed results across the board.

Bellefontaine 5, North Union 1

As seen on PeakofOhioTV, Brody Boy led the way for the Bellefontaine Varsity Chiefs, driving in all five of the team’s runs in a 5-1 win over North Union.

Boy hit two doubles—one in the first inning to score two runs and another in the fifth to bring in three more.

He talks about the game:

Spencer Stolly earned the win on the mound, giving up one run over six innings while striking out six.

Sutton Daring closed the game with a clean seventh inning.

The Chiefs also turned a double play defensively.

Bellefontaine will visit Indian Lake on Tuesday.

Head Coach Russ Hogue:

Jonathan Alder 11, Benjamin Logan 0

Jonathan Alder handed Benjamin Logan a tough 11-0 loss, scoring six runs in the third inning to put the game out of reach.

Anthony Griffith took the loss for the Raiders, allowing four runs on seven hits over two and one-third innings.

Benjamin Logan will travel to Tecumseh on Saturday.

Tecumseh 5, Indian Lake 4

Despite out-hitting Tecumseh 12 to 9, Indian Lake came up just short in a 5-4 loss.

The Lakers led 4-0 through five innings before Tecumseh rallied late.

Madden Lillard had three hits and started on the mound for Indian Lake, giving up two runs (one earned) over five innings with seven strikeouts.

Tyler Tidwell took the loss in relief.

Offensively, the Lakers stole eight bases and saw strong contributions from Cooper Hall, Kolton Cummins, and Bryce Burton.

Indian Lake will host Anna on Saturday.
