The first time back playing in league play in eight years, the Bellefontaine Youth Football teams, JV (3rd & 4th graders) and the Varsity (5th & 6th graders), both had strong seasons, finishing as runners-up in the Central Buckeye Conference of the Little Mad River Valley Football League.
In the JV championship game, the Chieftains traveled down to Springfield Shawnee to face the #1 seed Braves and fell in a defensive battle, 7 to 6.
Hayden Cox found Jonathan Harvey for a 75-yard TD reception and Kamdon Hairston had another strong game running the ball.
Mason Rutherford and Draedyn Kinnison both recorded sacks on the defensive side of the ball.
The JV Chieftains finish the season as CBC Runner Up.
In the varsity championship game, the Chieftains battled the undefeated Rolling Hills Cougars at Kenton Ridge High School, ultimately coming up short, losing 12 to 0.
The varsity Chieftains also finished the year as CBC Runner-Up.
The games bring a close to a successful year for Bellefontaine Youth Football.
