BHS, BLHS bowling teams shine at Raider Holiday Classic

It was a busy and successful weekend on the lanes for area high school bowling teams, as Benjamin Logan and Bellefontaine competed in the Raider Holiday Classic and a loaded multi-team tournament at TP Lanes, producing strong finishes and multiple all-tournament honors.

Bellefontaine Boys Bowling – TP Lanes Tournament

The Bellefontaine varsity boys bowling team delivered an outstanding performance in a competitive 17-team tournament at TP Lanes, finishing second overall.

The Chiefs were led by Alex Moon, who rolled games of 194, 202, and 180 for a 576 series. Eli Stone added a 198 game, while Timmy Phillips contributed a 191. Bellefontaine also rolled strong Baker games of 247 and 186 for a 433 Baker series.

In bracket play, Bellefontaine defeated Riverside to advance, then topped Benjamin Logan to reach the championship match against Celina. After splitting the first two games, Celina rolled a decisive 290 in the final Baker game to claim the title, leaving Bellefontaine with an impressive runner-up finish.

The Bellefontaine JV boys also competed, led by Dometri Harmon with a 524 series. Christian Bollack and Parker Hubbard chipped in games of 160 and 155, respectively.

The varsity Chiefs return to league action Monday at Victory Lanes against Springfield Shawnee.

Benjamin Logan Boys Bowling – Raider Holiday Classic

The Benjamin Logan boys bowling team placed 4th overall out of 17 teams at the 2nd Annual Raider Holiday Classic, hosted Saturday at TP Lanes.

The Raider varsity squad came out strong in qualifying, rolling conventional games of 1006, 991, and 1046 for a total of 3,043, then adding Baker games of 166 and 195 to finish with 3,404 pins. That performance earned Benjamin Logan the No. 2 seed heading into the championship rounds.

Senior Dylan Stewart led the charge with games of 235, 204, and 235 for a 674 series, placing 5th on the Boys All-Tournament Team. Colton Klopfenstein followed with an impressive 629 series, while Conner Chambers and Jace Lyons each finished with identical 593 series. Wyatt LeVan added a 554 series.

In bracket play, the Raiders defeated Fort Loramie two games to one before falling to Bellefontaine in the next round, finishing fourth overall. Centerville, which finished first in qualifying, was unable to complete the tournament due to weather-related travel concerns.

The Benjamin Logan JV boys finished 11th out of 17 teams and did not advance to bracket play. Kaden Stevens led the JV effort with a 522 series, followed closely by Paxton Henry with a 521. Pierce Jenkins, Colt Brugler, and Taydin Miller also contributed strong performances.

Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders – Raider Holiday Classic

The Benjamin Logan varsity girls bowling team competed in the Raider Holiday Classic at TP Lanes, finishing 8th out of 12 teams.

The Lady Raiders rolled three conventional games and two Baker games for a total pinfall of 2,572. Senior Maddy Hamm led the way with games of 204, 160, and 192 for a 556 series, earning a spot on the Top 5 All-Tournament Team and finishing 2nd overall individually.

Aubrey Zedlitz followed with a solid 508 series after rolling games of 156, 172, and 180. Kaylee Knox contributed her high game of 162 along with a 141.

The Lady Raiders’ JV team also competed, finishing 10th out of 12 teams. Kinzy Legge paced the JV squad with games of 121, 167, and 154 for a 442 series. Natalie Chapman rolled a 283 series, while Laila Downing added two consistent games of 98.

The Lady Raiders return to action Tuesday, December 16, traveling to Plain City for a varsity-only match against Jonathan Alder beginning at 4:00 p.m.
