Benjamin Logan 4th-Grade Basketball Tournament Action

The Ben Logan 4th Grade Girls Black team (Photo Attached), took the court in the MVYBL Tournament on Saturday.

The semi-final game saw the 10-1 Raiders square off against a Greenview team boasting an equally impressive 11-1 record.

The Raiders jumped out to an early 10-2 lead after the 1st quarter and were able to maintain the lead with a Rams late comeback attempt, en route to a 18-10 victory.

Earning a spot in the League Championship game.

The Raiders were led in scoring by Mia Varian and Kenzie Moore. Karra Taylor, Claira Miller, Mikaylah Cook, and Olivia Marshall also put shots through the net.

Defensively the Raider’s efforts were rewarded by play from Danyka Iiams, Meadow Predmore, and Campbell Spriggs.

 

In the MVYBL Gold Division Championship game, the Raiders took on the defending champion and undefeated North Union team.

The game was tied after 1 and the Wildcats held onto a one-score lead at the halfway point.

The Raiders simply ran out of gas after playing 6 fast-paced quarters in a row and North Union went on to claim the Championship 21-10.

Varian led the Raider’s scoring efforts along with Mikaylah Cook, and Campbell Spriggs.

Defensively Aerriana Williams and Karra Taylor stood out in the game.

The Raiders finished the league season as the Gold Division Runner ups and an 11-2 record, with both losses at the hands of the Wildcats.

 

Ben Logan Raiders 4th-grade black team will be participating in the Triad Classic the Weekend of Feb 24th~25th, if you would like to come out and support the team.

 

Ben Logan Raiders 4th-grade girl’s gold team was in action at Kenton against Marion Harding Black on Sunday.

The Raiders fell 37-13.

The Raiders offense was led by Autumn Slygh and Maggie Peterson.

Defensively the Raiders were led by Brooke Black and Tayla Capalino.
