Benjamin Logan 4th-grade Girls Basketball Weekend Results

The Ben Logan 4th Grade girls black team was in action over the weekend at the Triad Classic Tournament where they went 4-0.

On Saturday during pool play the Raiders took on the host Cardinals.

The Raiders jumped out to a 12-4 lead in the first half, en route to a 23-4 victory.

Leading the offense for the Raiders was Danyka Iiams, along with Mia Varian, Karra Taylor, and a host of Raiders.

Defensively, the Raiders were led by Mikaylah Cook, Meadow Predmore, and Claira Miller.

In game #2 of pool play the Raiders took on the Hillclimbers of Urbana.

Where Varian found the zone dropping 15 points, Meadow Predmore, and Mikaylah Cook added to the scoring efforts en route to a 26-6 Final, securing the Raiders a spot in the Gold Division Bracket.

Defensively Aerriana Williams, Olivia Marshall, and Karra Talyor were terrific.

Sunday saw the Raiders in the semi-final game against the Tigers of West Liberty.

The Game was close throughout but the Raiders pulled ahead for good in the 3rd quarter, en route to a 16-11 victory and earning a spot in the Gold Division Championship Game.

Karra Talyor and Mia Varian set the pace for the Raiders scoring dropping 6 each. Defensively the Raiders were led by Olivia Marshall, Claria Miller, and Campbell Spriggs.

The Raiders were met in the Championship game by a very talented Bellefontaine Chieftain team.

The Chieftains controlled the contest in the first half, but the Raiders outscored the Chieftains 7-3 in the 3rd quarter to pull ahead by 1.

The Chieftains’ Bexley Daring hit a crucial free throw with 5 seconds remaining in a defensive game to tie the contest and send it into overtime.

The first overtime period saw the Raiders Mia Varian and the Chiefs Daring both get hot at the free throw line where they each connected on 3 of 4 sending the game into a second overtime period.

The Raiders Varian and Karra Taylor both hit Jump shots early in the period to put the Raiders up 18-14.

The Chiefs would mount a late comeback effort that fell short and the Raiders would go on to claim the Championship game 18-15.

Varian led the scoring for the Raiders, with Claira Miller, Taylor, Olivia Marshall, and Danyka Iiams all contributing on the scoreboard for the Raiders.

Defensively the Raider efforts were spearheaded by Campbell Spriggs, Meadow Predmore, and Mikalyah Cook who were fantastic when it counted the most.
